Nurmijärvi blessing chapel

The chairs in the Nurmijärvi Chapel of Rest were renewed in the summer of 2024.

The Nurmijärvi Chapel of Rest is a wooden building designed by architect Rafael Blomstedt and consecrated in 1930, representing the forest cemetery ideology. The chapel's tranquil blue-toned interior, featuring Antti Salmenlinna's altarpiece covering the entire end wall and a wooden crucifix sculpted by Mikko Mattila, creates a dignified atmosphere. The organ, built in 1979, completes the harmony of the space. The new Tila chairs, chosen for the chapel, combine modern comfort with traditional aesthetics, complementing the chapel’s respectful ambiance.
